Film Locations. Halong Bay limestone cliffs and lagoons, Mai Chau stilt houses, Mekong Delta sleepy villages and floating markets, French colonial architecture, ancient ruins, rice fields, colorful markets, bustling modern Asian cities, rainforests, mountains, sandy deserts, pristine countryside, surfing and white sand beaches are all within driving distance of major cities.
Permits. Permitting is a straight forward process. Most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.
When to shoot? The climate in Vietnam varies greatly from north to south. Tropical monsoons occur from October to April in the north and south and from May to September in the centre. It is almost totally dry throughout the rest of the year. It can get exceptionally hot all year round, but the north has a cooler time between October and April. It is best to film between the shifting of seasons. The northern highlands and Hanoi are often chilly in the winter.

Costs. On the whole Vietnam is a cost efficient place to shoot.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Most citizens are of Viet origin. Vietnam has 54 recognized ethnic groups, the Chinese being the largest minority group. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad.
Creative talent. Vietnam has a very limited pool of local directors, directors of photography and stills photographers. Its close proximity to Bangkok and Hong Kong allows easy access to those pools of creative talent should you ever need to look further.

Crews are non-union. Supporting crews are good and hard working. Key crew is best brought in from abroad.
Fringes. No hidden extras.
Premiums. No fixed premiums apply. We package deals for local crew / talent.
Equipment. All the standard equipment is available locally. More specialized equipment needs to be brought in from abroad.
Art department is basic. Key crew must be brought in. Set construction crews are skilled, hard working and inexpensive.
Studios and backlots. None exist at present.
Tax Incentives. At present there are no tax incentives for foreign
commercials or films shooting in Vietnam.
Film Stock. Must bring from abroad.
Post Production. No labs exist locally. We post abroad. Bangkok has the closest lab.
Visas and Work Permits. Entry is subject to regulations from country of origin. Contact your local Vietnamese embassy or representative for more information.
Transportation Infrastructure. Main roads are up to international standards. Several international airlines service flights to Vietnam.
