Permits. Permitting in St Lucia is a very straightforward process requiring usually no more than one week for permits.
When to shoot? Hot and tropical climate tempered by trade winds throughout most of the year. The driest period is from January to April. Wet season is from June to November which is also the hurricane season.

Costs. Local costs are fairly expensive. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. Post needs to be done abroad.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Most citizens are Afro-Caribbean with some Indo-Caribbean and Caucasian talent also available. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad.
St Lucia has no pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers.
