Slovenia

Film Locations. Slovenia is known for its unspoilt nature and easily accessible locations. It is a very small country that within a 2 hour drive offers everything from Alpine peaks to Mediterranean looks, green meadows and rolling hills, Karst cave, Bled Island, pine forests, lakes, rivers and bubbling streams, vineyards, beaches, castles and palaces.
Ljubljana is the main production centre so key crew, equipment and talent need to travel from there. The drive to the seaside is about 1 hour. The beaches of Trieste or Grado are 1.5 hours. The Alps are anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours.
Permits. No extraordinary restrictions or rules apply. Permitting in
Slovenia is a very straightforward process. It typically takes up do 5 working days for permits in the cities. It is possible to control streets and close down trafiic, but closing down traffic in the main center may take up to 14-20 days to permit depending on the location. Filming in national parks is restricted and requires special permits.
When to shoot? Slovenia has a four season climate. Slovenia has a Mediterranean climate on the coast, and a continental climate with mild to hot summers and cold winters in the plateaus and valleys to the east. The Alps in the north are warm in the summer and covered in snow in the winter.
July - August is peak season for tourists on the coast. November - February is peak season for tourists in the Alps.
For monthly weather statistics please see here.
Please contact us for more specific weather and sun path information.

Lead role: 750 EUR (12hr day)
Side role: 450 EUR (12hr day)
