Film Locations. San Marino is the third smallest country in Europe. It is located inside of Italy. Best known locations include the old town centre, hamlets. mountains, rivers and the Formula One Grand Prix.
San Marino has little to no film infrastructure. Rome and Milan are the closest major production centres.
Permits. San Marino has a film
friendly and streamlined permitting process. There are no extraordinary
restrictions or rules.
When to shoot? The climate is Mediterranean with continental influences, having warm summers and cool winters. Moderate snow in winter, some brief showers in summer.

Costs. San Marino is a relatively expensive place to shoot. San Marino trades in the Euro. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Nearly all citizens are Italian. All other talent looks need to be brought in from Italian production centres or abroad.
Creative talent. San Marino has no pool of local directors, directors of photography and stills photographers. Its close proximity to major European production centres allows easy access to those pools of creative talent should you ever need to look further.
