Palau

Film Locations. Palau is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, some 800 km east of the Philippines and 3200 km south of Tokyo. Palau consists of tropical islands, a barrier reef, a coral atoll and unique uninhabited rock islands. The nation was the site of the American reality television program Survivor: Palau in 2005 and it is also the location of Survivor: Micronesia, airing in 2008.
Permits. Most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.
When to shoot? Long shoot days all year around. Typical Pacific Island weather with warm clear days and stormy evenings. The climate is hot and humid, with a wet season from July to October.
Costs. Locations and talent costs themselves are inexpensive but since no filming infrastructure exists on the islands all crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. It is possible to get similar location looks in less expensive and better serviced production centres.
For monthly weather statistics please see here.
Please contact us for more specific weather and sun path information.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Day rates are
very reasonable and negotiated on a personal basis.
Palauans are a mix of Melanesian, Micronesian and Malayan descent.

Please contact us for recommended directors, DoP's and photographers for your project.
