Film Locations. Micronesia comprises hundreds of small islands in the Pacific Ocean. The Philippines lie to the northwest, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Melanesia to the west and south, and Polynesia to the east. Micronesia is known for its famous WWII wreck diving. Kosrae's Lelu ruins. Pohnpei's ancient stone city. Yap's enormous stone-money banks. Lush tropical islands with white sand beaches and azure seas. Surf reefs.
Permits. Most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.
When to shoot? Long shoot days all year around. Typical Pacific Island weather with warm clear days and stormy evenings. The climate is hot and humid, with a wet season from May to November.
Costs. Locations and talent costs are inexpensive but since no filming infrastructure exists on the islands all crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. It is possible to get similar location looks in less expensive and better serviced production centres.

Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Day rates are
very reasonable and negotiated on a personal basis.
Micronesia offers Micronesia looking people. This includes Chuukese, Pohnpeian, Yapese and Kosraean people. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad.
Creative talent. Micronesia has no pool of local directors, directors of photography and stills photographers.

Crews and Equipment. All need to be flown in.
Fringes and Premiums. No hidden extras. No fixed premiums apply. We package deals for local crew / talent.
Art Department and set construction are very minimal.
Studios and Backlots don't exist.
Tax Incentives. There are no tax incentives for foreign feature films or
commercials shooting in Micronesia.
