Film Locations. Kiribati is composed of 32 atolls and one raised coral island dispersed over 3,500,000 square kilometres straddling the equator and bordering the International Date Line to the east. Kiritimati is the world's largest atoll. Kiribati has surfing, diving and World War II wreckages.
Permits. Most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.
When to shoot? Long shoot days all year around. Typical Pacific Island weather with warm clear days and stormy evenings. The climate is hot and humid, with a wet season from May to November.
Costs. Locations and talent costs themselves are inexpensive but since no filming infrastructure exists on the Island all crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. It is possible to get similar location looks that are closer to less expensive and better serviced production centres.

Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Day rates are
very reasonable and negotiated on a personal basis.
Kiribati offers Micronesian looking people with some Fijian and Tongan influences. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad.
Creative talent. Kiribati has no local pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers.

Crews and Equipment. All need to be flown in.
Fringes and Premiums. No hidden extras. No fixed premiums apply. We package deals for local crew / talent.
Art department and set construction are very minimal.
Studios and Backlots don't exist.
Tax Incentives. There are no tax incentives for foreign feature films or
commercials shooting in Kiribati.
Film Stock and Post Production. None available locally.
Visas and Work Permits. Only certain countries need visas and there is
