Cairo is the capital and main production centre.

Permits. Most locations require only 3-4 days for permits however some require up to 2 weeks eg: Monuments, underwater filming.

When to shoot? Egypt has two seasons: a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October.

For monthly weather statistics please see: http://www.gaisma.com/en/dir/eg-country.html

Please contact us for more specific weather and sun path information.

Costs.
Egypt has one of the least expensive shoot day costs in the Middle East.

Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable.
Talent costs are some of the lowest in the Middle East. In terms of local looks, nearly all citizens are Egyptian. Very small minorities of Bedouins, Berbers and Nubians also exist. All other talent needs to be brought in from abroad.

Egypt has a very limited local pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers.

Please contact us for recommended directors, DoP's and photographers for your project.

Crews are non-union.
