Film Locations. Castles and medieval architecture, Soviet architecture including the unusual National Library of Belarus, subways, picturesque traditional villages, fields, forests, hills, lakes, rivers.
Permits. Belarus is a very undeveloped filming centre. With the right approach permission from appropriate authorities can be quickly and easily obtained.
When to shoot? Belarus has harsh snowy winters peaking around January and cool to moderate summers peaking in July. The country experiences a yearly transition from a continental climate to a maritime climate.

Costs. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. On the whole, it is possible to get similar location looks from less expensive and better serviced production centres.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are always negotiable. Day rates are
very reasonable and negotiated on a personal basis.
Belarus offers Slavic looking talent. All else needs to be brought in from abroad.
No talent agencies exist so street casting is often required.
Creative talent. Belarus has no local pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers. Its close proximity to major European production centres allows
easy access to those pools of creative talent should you need it.

Fringes. No hidden extras.
Premiums. No fixed premiums apply. We package deals for local crew / talent.
Art department is very basic.
Studios and Backlots don't exist.
Tax Incentives. There are no tax incentives for foreign feature films or
commercials in Belarus.
Film Stock and Post Production. None available locally.
Visas and Work Permits. Entry is subject to regulations from country of origin. Contact your local Belarusian embassy or representative for more information.
Transportation Infrastructure. Main roads are in a fair condition. Rural roads are slower going and in a poor condition. Some international airlines service Belarus.
