Film Locations. Bangladesh is located in the low-lying Ganges Delta making it one of the most fertile plains in the world. The Sundarbans are the world's largest mangrove forest and are home to a variety of animals including the Bengal tiger, crocodiles, cheetahs, spotted deer, monkeys, pythons, wild bears and hyenas.
Dhaka offers bustling East Asian streets and several interesting British colonial forts and buildings as well as the the National Parliament that was designed by Louis Kahn. Bangladesh also has Cox's Bazar, the world's longest uninterrupted beach. Beyond this Bangladesh is home to lush green fields, lakes, rivers, islands, waterfalls, golden sand beaches, surfing, forests and jungles, rice paddies and tea plantations, 4.8 km Jamuna Bridge, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu and Christian architecture and archaeological ruins.

Permits. Most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.

When to shoot? Bangladesh has a very wet climate defined by its subtropical monsoon seasons. Most the rain falls June to October followed by a dry season through March. March through June has the highest temperate and humidity. Bangladesh is prone to annual cyclones and floods. Coastal areas are especially hit by cyclones from April to May.

Costs. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew, equipment and talent are best brought in from abroad. Mumbai or Bangkok are the closest major film production centres. This can add considerably to the cost of shooting. Otherwise, local costs are inexpensive.

Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. Bangladesh offers mainly ethnic Bengali looks. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad.

Bangladesh has no pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers.

Fringes. No hidden extras.

Premiums. No fixed rules. We package deals for local crew / talent.

Equipment. Some very basic equipment is available locally. You will need to bring in most equipment from abroad.

Art department and set construction is very basic.

Studios and backlots. None exist at present.

Tax Incentives. At present there are no tax incentives for foreign commercials or films shooting in Bangladesh.

Film Stock. Must bring from abroad.

Post Production. No labs exist locally. We post abroad.

Visas and Work Permits. Entry is subject to regulations from country of origin. Contact your local Bangladeshi embassy or representative for more information.

Transportation Infrastructure
. Main roads are in a fair condition. Rural roads are slower going and in a poor condition. Several international airlines service flights to Bangladesh.

Safety. Bangladesh is relatively safe for foreigners to visit. At present the Chittagong Hill Tracts region is best avoided. If you must shoot in these areas appropriate personal security measures are recommended.
