Permits.

When to shoot? The Bahamas have beautiful weather all year round. Hurricane season is from May to November.

Costs.
Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. Post needs to be done abroad. Miami is the closest major production centre and is only a short 1 hour flight away.

Talent
is non-union and buyouts are negotiable. The Bahamas offers mainly Afro Caribbean and some Caucasian talent. All other talent looks need to be brought in from abroad. Miami offers a deep multicultural pool of talent.

The Bahamas have no local pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers. It's close proximity to Miami and other major US production centres allows easy access to those pools of creative talent.

Fringes.

Art department and set construction is basic. Not the best place for major builds. Miami has some very good art department support. Some examples of projects shot in the Bahamas include Cocoon, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the James Bond films - Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me.

Studios and backlots. None exist at present.

Tax Incentives. At present there are no tax incentives for foreign commercials or films shooting in the Bahamas.
