Argentina

Film Locations. Argentina offers a world of location looks. Generic modern city and old Europe architecture looks. Coastal towns. Stunning car roads and bridges. The natural majesty of Patagonia. Various deserts, salt plains, forests, valleys, lakes, rivers, jungles, waterfalls including Iguazu Falls, farmland, glaciers and snowy mountains.
Buenos Aires is the main film production centre so all needs to travel from there.
Argentina Film Location Permits. Depending on the specifics of the project most location permits require 5 to 7 working days. Downtown streets can only be shut down on the weekend. National parks require special permits. Aerial shots are not allowed in National Parks. Please contact us for location specific information.
When to shoot? The Argentine climate varies considerably depending on the time of year, latitude, proximity to the sea and the altitude. The principal climates are warm, temperate, arid and cold. In Buenos Aires the Autumn runs from March to May, Winter runs from May to August, Spring runs from August to November and Summer runs from December to March.
For monthly weather statistics please see here.
Please contact us for more specific weather and sun path information.
Costs. Although Argentina has over recent years become considerably more expensive it still offers good value for money certainly compared to costs in the US and Western Europe.
Projects that require travel outside of Buenos Aires can add considerably to the cost of filming. The Bariloche snow region, Argentina's most picturesque wine regions and Patagonia all require considerable travel from Buenos Aires.
