Algiers is the capital city and most likely place to base your production.
Permits. Permitting can be a long and arduous process but most locations are possible given time, money and the right approach.
When to shoot? The coastal areas have a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and rainy winters. Further south towards the Sahara desert the climate is characterised by very hot days and very cold nights. The coldest month is January, the hottest August. The rains prevail from December to February; the temperate season continues from March to June, and the hot season lasts from July to November.

Costs. Most local costs are inexpensive - locations, local crew and talent. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. Many of the interesting locations are also quite far from any major city which will add travel costs.
Talent is non-union and buyouts are negotiable.
Algeria offers mainly Arab Berber looking talent with some French looks available too. All other talent needs to be brought in from abroad.
Algeria has no local pool of directors, directors of photography and stills photographers. Its close proximity to major European production centres allows easy access to those pools of creative talent should you ever need to look further.

Fringes. No hidden extras.
Premiums. No fixed rules. We package deals for local crew / talent.
Equipment. Only the most basic equipment is available locally. You will need to bring in most standard equipment from abroad.
Art department and set construction is very basic.
Studios and backlots. None exist at present.
Tax Incentives. At present there are no tax incentives for foreign
commercials or films shooting in Algeria.
Film Stock. Must bring from abroad.
Post Production. No labs exist locally. We post abroad.
Visas and Work Permits. Entry is subject to regulations from country of origin. Contact your local Algerian embassy or representative for more information.
Transportation Infrastructure is all up to known and expected world
standards. Algeria is serviced by several international airlines.
